I am Brenda Xochitl Torres Ramirez. I was born in Mexico City and have lived half of my life in Barcelona, Spain.
Since 2005, I have dedicated myself to psychotherapy after specializing in Reichian Body Psychotherapy in Mexico and Valencia. I am an EMDR Clinician, specializing in trauma treatment (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as in Ecological Parenting and Human Systems.
My professional path has been enriched by the deep curiosity I have always felt toward human nature, expanding consciousness, and life itself.
As a child, I experienced moments that left a profound mark on my heart, feeling a pure connection with nature during my visits to the state of Oaxaca, accompanied by my parents and both sets of grandparents. Spending nights by the fire, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, or walking in the mountains in silence at night were experiences that allowed me to connect with the vital energy that Wilhelm Reich called orgone.
My purpose is deeply connected to these experiences, as I believe that our true nature is expansive, wild, unarmored, and inclined toward the authentic and genuine expression of the self, which pulsates in each of our cells. Over time, influenced by our personal history and socio-cultural context, many of us have lost contact with our essence, which is always naturally oriented toward love, cooperation, and freedom.
I feel that my entire journey has led me in a spiral back to my origins, integrating the vast body of knowledge gained from my training in Character-Analytic Vegetotherapy, Simple and Complex Trauma, Dissociation, and Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness, along with ancestral wisdom that has been transmitted and inherited through generations. I firmly believe that reconnecting with vital energy and with life itself allows us to attain a state of being that is fuller, lighter, and more complete in this world.
The role of psychotherapy, as I see it, is to accompany the processes underlying consciousness work and life history—to explore everything that may have conditioned the system to contract, the opposite movement of expansion. Its purpose is to restore the system’s pulsatile capacity, aligning it with a vibration more attuned to joy, balance, and the health of both mind and body.
I am the mother of Itzel, my greatest teacher in life.
